Dr. Davis has been in the human resources field for 25 years. Public sector employers include the cities of Santa Cruz and Scottsdale (HR Director), the counties of San Diego and Los Angeles (Personnel Research Psychologist and Senior HR Manager), North County Transit District (Management Analyst), and the William S. Hart Unified School District (Classified Personnel Director). He has also worked for the private consulting firm of PSI, LLC Inc. as Senior Vice President and as Senior Manager of CPS HR Consulting.
Dr. Davis has always delivered innovative solutions to his clients and employers. For example, for the Transportation Security Administration he created a paperless process to test over 30,000 candidates per month. For Los Angeles County, he introduced computer-based testing that streamlined a lengthy recruitment process. At City of Scottsdale, he revised the manual performance appraisal process to an automated one.
He holds a doctorate degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from LSU and his dissertation dealt with public safety turnover. He also holds the SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications. He also remains current in the field by serving as an adjunct faculty member for the California State University Northridge and Grand Canyon University.
