Hazel Joanes joined RGS in 2019 as a Senior Advisor in the Emergency Management Services group. Hazel has over twenty years of combined experience in public works and emergency management services in both the public and private sector. Some of her extensive experience includes emergency management planning and hazardous waste management planning for counties. Hazel also has experience in disaster debris recycling programs design and operations. In addition, she has worked with FEMA Public Assistance Program and has assisted municipalities with disaster cost recovery projects.
Hazel has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and certifications in Municipal Waste Management, Hazardous Materials Control Management, Recycling Markets Economic Development, Green Classrooms, and Cost Estimating Format and Hazard Mitigation.
Outside of work, Hazel enjoys hiking, growing mushrooms, and practicing Pilates.
