Michael Bendik

Michael Bendik has more than thirty years’ experience as an authority in managing and implementing environmental, health and safety, risk, and workers’ compensation programs. The last 20 years of his career has been with a key Northern California Water/Wastewater Agency (Special District). While working for this Agency, he created and held positions with increasing responsibility, e.g., risk analyst, safety officer, environmental health and safety coordinator, and finally as the risk control and safety manager.

Michael’s experience includes a working knowledge of regulatory inspection and investigative techniques, industrial hygiene principles, and risk assessment. He is well-versed in Federal & California EPA, OSHA, Cal-OSHA, California & Local Fire Codes, and other regulatory requirements. His background incorporates all aspects of fire service safety and emergency response, including CPR/AED, emergency first aid, hazardous materials handling & response, confined spaces, fire investigations, and related inspections. He has hands-on expertise in occupational physical therapy and ergonomic workstation evaluation and design.

Michael has additionally provided consulting services for a variety of private companies and government agencies. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in health & safety, an Associate of Arts in fire science, and achieved a variety of specialized and professional certifications. Some of these certification include a Malcomb Baldridge Award Assessor, Risk Management Associate Public Sector, Certified Utility Safety Manager, Infrastructure Protection and Terrorism Liaison Officer II, Critical Asset Risk Management, HAZWOPER Incident Commander, and DOT Random Drug Program Administrator.
