Senate Bill 2 (SB 2), signed in 2021, imposed filing requirements for all agencies that employ peace officers. The first major deadline is July 1, 2023.
RGS can help if your organization does not have a plan in place to meet the new SB 2 Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) reporting requirements.
Any complaint, charge, or allegation of conduct against a peace officer that could render a peace officer subject to suspension or revocation of certification by the commission pursuant to Section 13510.8 must be reported.
By July 1, 2023, policing entities must submit reports for events that occurred between January 1, 2020, and January 1, 2023.
