Subramanian Sharma joined RGS in 2017 as an Advisor. Subramanian has 20 years of experience in civil engineering and transportation planning for public sector agencies. His previous work experience included conducting transportation studies and field surveys; highway and intersection capacity analyses and supervision of the installation of field equipment.
In addition, he has reviewed traffic analyses sections of environmental impact studies and made recommendations to Project Managers; and reviewed Consultant Traffic Impact Studies for major and minor commercial and residential developments that access state highways and impact traffic on state highways. Subramanian has performed a variety of technical professional engineering duties related to traffic engineering for the Operational and Project Development sections of the Bureau of Traffic and analyzed, designed, and prepared plans for traffic signals, pavement markings, and signing for construction projects and operational activities.
He developed and implemented the CARS/511 Traveler Information System for New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont and managed information technology systems for small to midsized transit agencies. He has worked in coordination with Federal, State and Regional agencies.
Subramanian has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Major Transportation), from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, and a M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning (Major Transportation), from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA. He also has a Bachelor of Technology degree (Civil), from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India.
