The Power of Leadership Coaching

two colleagues talking at a tableLeaders seek coaching when they desire to be more effective, accomplish new goals, or need an ally in their quest for personal development. Leadership coaching uses a process of inquiry in one-on-one sessions over time to help the client complete established goals and develop specific skills. This focused approach can accelerate the acquisition of skills identified within the coaching relationship, but can also reinforce content learned in training sessions and build upon concepts learned in books or other media.

Statistics show that 70% of coaching recipients benefitted from improved performance, relationships, and more effective communication skills (Institute of Coaching). Additionally, in a survey of 100 executives, investment in executive coaching realized a return on investment (ROI) of almost six times the cost of coaching in multiple areas including improved relationships, improved teamwork, and job satisfaction. (The Manchester Review).

RGS values the outcomes of coaching so much that we have embedded leadership coaching in our new Management Leadership Academy. In addition to the scheduled courses and panel sessions, attendees will have six one-on-one coaching sessions with our experienced leadership coaches.

Participants can use these coaching sessions to:

  • Practice applying concepts learned in the Academy in their workgroups
  • Receive coaching for a particularly challenging project
  • Focus on career development and acquisition of skills to address skill gaps
